AITAH?

Father on West Coast was hospitalized for Alzheimer's and other medical issues in April.

Since then he was placed in a restricted access care facility due to his condition. This is about $6k/month right now which is not totally covered by his monthly pension and has to be supplemented thru other retirement savings which are down to less that $50k due to a scam situation.

Prior to the hospitalization, he was scammed by a bit coin and romance scammer out of nearly $250k of his retirement savings.

He also previously told my older sister that he would provide her with $700/month to help cover expenses. She lives in a house he paid for rent free including utilities and taxes. She also gets around $1000/month from an ex-husband for her & her three kids. She has a very part time contract job ($900/month) and gets some aid from the state. Total income is around $3500/month.

As his Power of Attorney, legally it's my job to watch out for his financial situation and understand and appropriately manage every element of his financial affairs.

AITAH for telling her that she needs to get a monthly budget put together so we can understand where the $3500/month she gets is going before we can continue to help her out?

Also, AITHA for telling her that she needs to make her kids (2 of them older than 20 no longer living at home & 1 in 12th grade) that they need to atleast help cover some of the expenses like car insurance and cell phone bills?
