The Sun is a G-type, main sequence star that resides near the center of the Solar System. It has ~36 bodies larger than 400km in orbit around it.
Here is a delta-v chart for the Sun and its orbiting bodies (note: the DV numbers are measured in kps)
Layers
Descending from the surface,
Corona
Chromosphere
Photosphere
Convection zone
Radiation zone
Core
Power output
The Sun outputs 3.83*1033 ergs/second or 3.83*1026 joules/second or 91.5 petatons of TNT/second.
This calculator is a measure of how much energy will hit an object at x distance. Mearly multiple what ever number you get out of it by the object's surface area in order to get the total energy it is getting hit with.
Solar Flairs
Coronal Mass Ejections
Sun spots
Durability
The Sun has a Gravitational Binding Energy of 2.276*1041 joules.
In order to destroy the Sun that is the minimum energy needed assuming the Sun is destroyed in an extremely efficient manner.
Generic Stats
Mass: 1.989*1030 kilograms.
Equatorial Radius: 695,508 kilometers.
Overall Density: 1408 kg/m2
Chromosphere Density: <1.6*10−11 kg/m3 to 2*10−4 kg/m3
Core Density (Approximate): 1.622 x 105 kg/m3
Pressure:
- Core: 2.477 x 1011 Bar
Surface Temperature: 5,500 degrees Celsius.
Corona Temperature: 500,000 k to >1,000,000 k
The Photosphere is the coldest part of the Sun as an object passes the Photosphere the temperature
Core Temperature: 1.571 x 107 K
Surface Gravity: 274.0 m/s2 or 27.96 g.
Gravity at distance x: To use replace "x" with distance from the sun to the object in meters
- This does not work for objects inside the Sun. The gravitational force will go down as the object approaches the core.
Escape Velocity: 617.6 kilometers per second.
