Ok, hear me out.... 5 gather rounds a year

So, prior to this year, there were 22 rounds where each team doubles up and plays 5 other teams twice. Why not have a gather round in each State - NSW, Qld, SA, WA and Vic for each of the 'double up' games and make the marquee game the State Rivalry. Showdown in SA, Derby in WA, Q clash in Qld, Battle of the bridge in NSW and in Vic, could be Pies vs Blues and Tigers vs Bombers for example.

That way, each State will get a Gather round each year, fans will be happy and all States will get to showcase.

I know it'll never happen but i don't see much downside
