Coming off Grand Slam this week, my biggest takeaway is that TK realizes there’s only so much drama you can wring out of heroes defending the belt from heels and other faces and usually maintaining them.
This doesn’t mean he wants to have heels as champions across the board, but it needed a better mix. Pac having to cheat to win and becoming an arrogant ass against one of the most over underdogs in the building gets him to do a more interesting angle than just being a really good wrestler.
That with Jericho taking the ROH world title makes me think TK knows he needs to mix this up a bit better. I’m interested to see how far it goes, because it still heavily favors faces over heels when I think it would be more dramatic to have it be a bit more even.
