I’m not going to lie, I was a massive CM punk mark, I always believed that he was only that toxic because of the work environment he was in. When he showed up that night in Chicago and almost cried I thought it was the sign of a new era, the next level for AEW, the next big thing if you will. The feud Punk had with MJF was Chef’s kiss and I don’t think anyone can deny that, now it kind of feels like a “never meet your heroes” kind of moment, realizing that he truly is a very entitled, somewhat pretentious dickhead. I know everyone has repeated it multiple times but I need somewhere to let my feelings out to, but Punk let me down, he let all of his believers down. We believed he was going to elevate the younger talent and bring them up, that’s not the case, the man has been burying people worse than Cena did to him. At least when Danielson showed up he was honest about it. Punk used to be almost a super hero to me, the voice of the voiceless… well now I realize that I don’t want him to be the voice of the voiceless. Because what we get is slander and down talk on a company that nobody wants to see grow more than their fanbase does. And if this is all a work… then God damn it I love wrestling.
EDIT: too many people are taking this as Elite > Punk. That’s not what I made this post about. The post is about how Punk has completely changed his image being voluntarily or not
