Question antenna

Does anyone have experience with the a86 Antenna. The USDM version have a non-retractable antenna that sticks up. Can it be easily replaced with a manual retractable one without modifications?
I used to hate it but now it's grown on me, looks like a RC car. I'm thinking to switch it out or get an antenna ball for it and embrace it.
If you find an AE86 Antenna ball let me know :)
