Gnome Bard started on Creator's Day. Went L and crowned early, not thinking about missing out on the ultra ending. I did finally get the Rolf quest for the first time and got the Trident of the Red Rooster, so that was fun and I'm considering using it for the endgame. Because I picked the Treasure Hunter talent on a whim I'm finding piles and piles of reasonably valuable stuff and regularly get "I ain't got money to pay you" from the merchants before I can unload all of my loot so I have to make a few trips if I don't just want to leave it all lying around somewhere. I didn't realize until probably level 40 that I had a wand of wishing with four charges and three rings of djinni summoning in my inventory that weren't destroyed by either the stone dragons or the blue dragon caves. I've read through the "what to wish for" guides for inspiration but other than "better marks" or potions of quickling blood I have no idea what to spend them on since I've already got multiple pairs of seven league boots, rings and bracers of regeneration, magical writing sets, etc. If I could wish for artifacts I'd get something for my neck and some kind of artifact bracers, there are all kinds of things that might be useful if I could wish for talents, but this might be the one game where I have lots wishes and I'm just...meh. I picked up a fourth djinni ring and a second wishing wand on my run to get the crumpled scroll, but the wand had 0 charges which would be pretty annoying if I weren't already set in that area.
Once the Rolf quest is done there's no reason to avoid killing dwarves, right? From an RP perspective it's terrible but I'm tempted to off Glod just to get free access to a forge where I'm not going to be interrupted every 10 seconds by some wandering monster.
This is also the game where I realized how little amulets of protection from undead actually protect you from, well, anything the undead can do. I've got the potion belt and a gazillion potions and over 10 mil gold so I can just keep polymorphing potions to get gain attribute & make up for the stat drain, but wow. If I weren't packing so many artifacts and basically just exploring at this point before grabbing the rest of the chaos orbs and wrapping up I'd run like a scared kitten every time I saw a lich.
