I took the Monday HP hit and created a new character. Human duelist. Popped into the first cave to level up a bit before heading on to Terinyo. Killed a kobold. Made a note of it for later when I have go kill a score of them. Entered a room with a carrion crawler. Named carrion crawler. Apparently I got a surge of power in the first 10 turns? It was close as a first-level character with no special equipment, but I beat him down. Picked up the loot without paying attention because there are a. lot. of distractions. in the house today. Noticed that I was getting more and more corrupted with every step I took. Checked my inventory. Noticed a black tome.

And that's the story of how I acquired a dark artifact of Chaos less than 100 turns into a low-key field trip into the easiest of easy caves. I imagine that the only people who will appreciate the absurdity of this situation are regulars in this sub.

I think I may need to kill this one off and start fresh.
