Tools for dealing with negative racing thoughts

I was hoping to hear from others that have a tendency to spiral into ADHD holes of negative racing thoughts and noisy internal dialogue in times of stress and other triggering situations. Sometimes a breathing technique of exhaling twice as long as my inhale for 4-5 cycles has helped. Lately those quieter mediatave spaces tend to create a louder internal dialogue. Sounds familiar to anyone? How do you deal?? Thank you all for your energy. George
