One of the people that helped me realize I have ADHD (and led to my diagnosis) met up with me and another friend back from France for Carnaval (world's biggest party). We ended up teaching my friend about ADHD. We also spent the whole time like, "wow dude, I totally do that too!", "what?!? That's literally me". My non-ADHD friend is an excellent listener (he needed to be because we are both hyperactive lol) and wanted to know more about us and the disorder. My friend (the ADHDer) described our relationship as the type where you don't see the person for ages then you text and it's like you just start from where you left off.
There's something special about having friendships with other ADHDers. I think the only bad thing is that many of us have such a hard time maintaining friendships!
Any similar experiences?
P.s. it would be awesome to start a group for ADHDers to call each other on Discord or whatever and just talk. The conversations would be hilarious and random, and that's one of the funniest things about ADHD. OK, it has its negatives and they can be harsh. But there are positives that we need to accept, given that it's a chronic condition.
