My (35M) wife (30F dx) is approaching a genuinely difficult time. Her best friend from childhood that she is joined by the hip with is moving far away next month.
I have empathy and I know how difficult this move will be for her. This is her person, someone she sees multiple times per week. Now she will see her once or twice a year.
I also know that her general mood and capacity to cope with life is going to be impacted. Not just now but after the move.
She will withdraw, sleep more, cry more and unfortunately take some of this out on me.
How do you handle it when your partner is approaching a difficult time in life knowing that your relationship is going to take strain?
She doesn't like talking about the move.
