There is this small company which I came to appreciate quite a lot during the recruitment process. Eventually, they said they liked me too and made me a contract offering.
Unfortunately, this offer is a little bit underwhelming (its lower than the salary I had in my previous workplace) so I replied that was willing to negotiate.
I expect them to answer me on Monday.
Nevertheless, I'm very uncomfortable negotiating my salary, as I feel like it makes me sound entitled and disrespectful towards them.
How should I approach this ?
