Morning routine for busy brains but tired bodies

Hi everyone

Looking for some advice or tips on a good morning routine

I find that I wake up and my brain is super busy and craving stimulation immediately. Almost uncomfortably so, like it’s going at 100 miles an hour. It’s so easy to then go onto things, phone to read the news, social media, whatsapp, emails, google and research random things that pop into my head. However it’s dragging out the time spent in bed and making my brain tired by the end and not setting me up for the day as my brain is so busy.

But if I wake up and don’t look at my phone I’m not sure how to manage all the busyness. I find it hard to just wake up and immediately get out of bed as my body is quite slow in the mornings and if I rush immediately I feel really nauseous (which I’ve learnt is low blood sugar from an autistic brain). If I don’t go on my phone I find my brain wonders and ends up ruminating on anxious thoughts.

What are the steps that help you in the mornings and do you experience having a mega busy brain, if so how do you manage it?

I am undiagnosed adhd (diagnosed autism) so I know a lot of people say meds help with this but that isn’t an option for me.

Thanks!
