So I got discharged by Psych UK back in January this year. I was started on xaggitin back in July 2023 but I experienced symptoms like palpitations, chest discomfort and anxiety so had to stop and undergo cardiac investigations . Psych UK refused to keep me on their books because the investigations were far away. The psych told me I wouldn’t have to wait for titration again. The results came back fine and I was informed by the cardiologist that I can take any medication I want. I also haven’t had palpitations or chest discomfort for a very long time. I’m in desperate need of the medication and have taken it without experiencing symptoms. Psych UK has been taking their sweet time and I’m struggling to wait any longer.
The GP I spoke to today really listened to me and I felt like he cared. He validated my feelings and agreed to write a letter to chase it. I was expecting to get fobbed off. I’m a new patient and my old GP was a shambles. Never felt listened to. I think I’ve found the doc I want to always see at the surgery.
The point of this post is to find a good GP. It might make a difference.
