A counselor referred me to a psychiatrist (through my insurance) but when I discussed about my situation (childhood trauma), she said tackling these issues was more urgent and discarded the idea of adhd (even saying this is a trend nowadays). But I know I struggled with it when I was a child, had to survive and function so I am ok ish now but itโs exhausting me to have to self regulate waste so much time doing that. I will have to go down the nhs route - any advice? Any feedback? I canโt afford a private diagnosis at the moment and I think a new specialist will require paying excess via my insurance but I need help (just to adult).
