Hi everyone, as you may have noticed, the BBC has finally responded to the complaints.
The response doubles down on a lot of the claims made in the documentary. It is hurtful and offensive, and I can see a lot of people reacting negatively in the comments and expressing their disappointment. I wanted to make a post reminding us all that it is okay to take a step back and distract yourself with something else. Take care of yourselves first, do something nice for yourself, and try your best not to get swallowed by the negativity.
Yes, it's good to fight back, yes it's good to use your anger to try and change things, but you can only sustain yourself on anger for so long. Don't burn yourself out. We will all still be here tomorrow, or next week, or next month, still working together as a community. If you need to take a break, we'll still be here when you get back.
This has been an incredibly tough week for our community, and I think we're all feeling pretty worn out (or at least I certainly am). Feel free to comment something positive, something that makes you happy, or recommendations for tv shows/films/books/music.
To stop the discussion spilling out too much and to help those who want to avoid it, we will be removing duplicate postings about the BBC response.
Take care out there xxx
