How many assessments does it typically take to get adult diagnosis in the NHS?

I'm in Wales, but I think the guidance is the same across the union. I had my mental health screening where they make sure I don't have depression or anxiety or anything else causing my symptoms and I have my next appointment lined up for a few months from now. I'm probably going to move (staying in Wales) and they said that what will happen is that they'll do my next appointment and probably transfer me to somewhere closer after that. I'm a bit afraid that I won't get diagnosed in my next appointment but they'll want to do more testing or things like that, but then they'll transfer me and then I'll be stuck on another long waiting list. Is it typical to take more than one assessment (apart from the mental health screening) to get diagnosed?

Edit: it might be worth saying that the reason I'm thinking they might want to do more assessment is that I have a lot of the traits of an ambiguous case. I'm more inattentive, most of my struggles didn't start till after primary school and I got by by being smart enough that my performance in school and so on was passable without actually working.
