When I was diagnosed with adhd, my then psychiatrist asked me what I wanted to do in terms of medication and I was like 🤷🏽♂️ adderall? Since he was on his way to kicking the bucket (RIP), I think he was loosey goosey with his script pad. He prescribes me 60mg IR adderall daily (40mg in the am 20mg in the afternoon) and I start my journey of adhd medication.
A few months later, my PCP questioned why I was receiving so much adderall as they also specialize in adhd (I had no idea). They ended up prescribing me 30mg vyvanse which I started taking in replacement of the adderall.
I tried vyvanse for 3 months but ultimately went back to adderall.
I never combined the two because I’m a weakling and get scared experimenting with drugs beyond their prescribed usage, but I still have left over vyvanse and am curious what the side effects / actual effects may be if I were to take both at the same time.
I know that both are stimulants so that’s obviously doubling up, but does it make it “extra potent”?
Curious minds are curious.
