I got a new job a few months ago where I work from home a lot. It's been a rough transition, especially since my desk was a worn-down, small freebie from an old college roommate.
One of the perks from my new job was a remote office set up bonus. After 5 months of working this job, reorganizing my "office" 10 times, and struggling to stay at my desk during working hours, I finally used my bonus to buy a desk.
It took me a long time to decide on a desk, the placement of said desk (my "office" is a corner of the kitchen), etc. But, yesterday, I bought an electronic, height adjustable desk.
It's amazing! I can't sit in the same position for hours, so now I can adjust my desk to fit the needs of whatever weird way I am sitting in my desk, or if I need to stand!
One thing I've been learning lately with my ADHD (and GAD) is that if I'm going to buy something, it's worth spending more money if the more expensive version is going to help my ADHD. I could've bought the cheapest desk that doesn't change heights, but I would end up spending tons of time each day, setting my computer up in odd spots where I would feel more productive (standing at a counter, sitting on the floor, etc.) - but, now I can change how I'm sitting at one singular spot. It's amazing.
