I was diagnosed back in January with ADHD. It was kind of not a shocker cause I had a feeling I was and after the diagnosis, I thought about it and made sense for all my struggles during my child hood. I'm still trying to learn about it, when are bad days, when are good days. My wife kinda knew but didn't want to say it was till we had a professional evaluate me.
I am currently not medicated. Was going to get meds, then I realized that my health insurance was not the greatest. But now that I have better health insurance through my job, I am looking to get medicated. Is there any meds I should watch out for? What's good and what's bad? I imagine it's different for everyone but I am sure there is a common one that works well and ones that don't.
The biggest struggle I feel like I have is trying to get my job to understand. I work in warehousing. This year alone I have applied twice for a supervisor position and got denied. I took a caliber test (personality test) and after looking at the results. I noticed there was a lot of red flags indicating about my ADHD. I plan on getting a document and accommodation letter from a professional to indicate that I have ADHD and that some task may be difficult for me to do because of it. I am curious to know how you guys have any advice other than medication or doctor letters?
Any advice on helping maintaining it will help also. Sometimes it can be a bit much and it feels like it's just a excuse but at the same time, I understand it's just something that's gonna happen and I can't control how good my attention span is going to be.
I appreciate any advice and hope to get some feed back as I am 30M that is just learning that I have this
