i hope this is ok to post!
so very quick TLDR: ive been medicated diagnosed since like, 3rd grade. as soon as i was old enough to swallow pills i was on ritalin, up until i think about a year or two ago. i saw some stuff online how ritalin sometimes has decreased effectiveness in adults, and i had noticed my focus and such getting progressively worse lately, so i asked my doctor to switch to adderall.
never tweaked dosage, just did a somewhat analogous dose of extended release adderall. but in the past year my physical anxiety has gotten horrendous. even when i can calm my thoughts down and feel okay emotionally, my body is constantly on high alert. chest tightness and sometimes pain (not a major heart issue at least, had this checked), heart palpations, feeling short of breath, sometimes a high heart rate.. etc. i'm already a naturally very anxious person, but the physical effects have just gotten way way worse.
i'm in the process of trying to figure out what to do about this and whats causing it, especially because its heavily been affecting my sleep.
anyone on adderall have issues with it making their anxiety worse esp physically? or vice versa? i'm curious if this is a side effect other people have noticed!
(i know therapy is good for anxiety, i'm also autistic and straight up cant do telehealth, so i'm just trying to manage the worst parts of it right now until in person stuff is doable again 😔)
