Story time. This takes place almost exactly one year ago.
I have a bachelor's degree in computer science and have been working doing data analysis for 10 years. On Monday I had just started my new job and went through the normal stages with HR and your pre-training and I was informed my training process would take about six months because of how customized all their applications were for that company. So I thought you know, no problem everybody does their own thing. Even though I was at the company building a lot of the work was remote and my trainer was a remote my boss was remote a lot of times I feel like I was the only one in the office.
On Friday during a casual conversation somehow comes up that I have ADHD and they seem concerned at first and I didn't think much of it tried to correct some common misconceptions but the day just continued very awkwardly.
Just before the day was over I was brought into an office with the HR representative I've never met a team lead that I also had never met and a supposed trainer that I also never met and was terminated because their words "I failed to complete my training and lacked basic computer knowledge".
I was so shocked and Confused that I just left. They claimed they had met with me multiple times about their concerns even though none of these meetings has taken place. Like how do you prove a meeting didn't happen?
Even though it's been a year I'm still terrified to apply for any analytical type job even though I'm qualified. And any job under that level I am overqualified for. I can't seem to get past this event. I also believe I've waited too long to do anything legally about it but the state I'm in is right to work so they can fire you for no reason anyway and I can't prove discrimination.
I still have been applying for jobs but something's different because I'm not getting responses and I don't know what changed other than my confidence. I assume my resume still the same but something's off and I don't know what it is.
