Does your brain feel like a never ending task list?

Post Body

Hi all,

Is it just me or do you just constantly think about the things you need to do? I’m not even consciously thinking of them but literally anything will trigger a thought of “Oh, I need to do x y z”.

I feel like I’m just constantly rattling off things, and I feel like they prevent me from being present and in the moment. And they just stress me out. Especially since they’re never ending! Once I finish something, it’s always time to get to the next thing.

Now, I do have to note a few things that have helped:

1) Keeping actual task lists. Makes me feel like the thing that kept popping up in my brain could be in the back pocket of my brain instead until I need to address it. 2) Meditation. Starting meditation was quite the game changer. I think I very rarely experienced the phenomenon of my brain being quiet before meditation. My mind still wanders, sure, but the moments where everything is quiet is golden. 3) Medication. I guess this helps with actually doing things done and not having the alarm bells in my brain go off about other things while I’m trying to focus on completing one thing.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that aside from meditation, I’m either trying to finish something or thinking about finishing something. I just want to be present more often. Especially with family or friends or just by myself. Is this relatable to anyone?
