Working "in the zone"

Post Body

I'm curious if anyone else has this or what it even is.

I work in a kitchen which can be a pretty intense job. Today the two chefs I was working with were in the back doing prep. Usually I can be pretty talkative and bubbly. I felt the bubbly feeling when I walked in and all was good.

Quickly the day became very fast, (which I find is generally easier to work than a slow day). I was left on line on my own for a bunch of orders. Pushing myself fast while being under duress (think that's the word) from the pressure of time for orders, people calling to change stuff or ask for stuff, the heat. It put me into a zen like focus (then the chefs decided to help out and fucked up what I was doing) which broke that for awhile (managed to get it back).

But when I'm in that zone it's like all that energy that would have been used for talking is only for work.

But does anyone else get that insane state of flow?

Edit: I made this post at work. I was diagnosed with adhd young and have been back on medication for the past 3 months. The new 40mg vyvanse in the morning and 20mg later seems to work well.

I just wanted to add that in as I was talking to someone about these feelings and it's pretty common for a lot of people. Just not a feeling I have had for awhile. I usually crash after or snap out of it and feel like it was someone else doing the stuff.
