ADHD Hyperfocus with hobbies
Post Body

I am wondering how many people deal with the hobby swap dilemma that plagues me.

I describe these to people as manic episodes because i will have severe anxiety when i am not doing the task/ hobby i am currently obsessed with. It literally makes things like hanging out with my girlfriend less enjoyable because all i can think of is subject of my episode.

I become an obsessive expert in a subject for a few months then move on to something else and that knowledge just sits in my brain until it is time to start that hobby again. I used to be able to keep a rotation of hobbies but as i have gotten older things have started to spiral.

Previous hobbies include but are not limited to: Warhammer, painting, computers, distilling, archery, video games (several different ones), 3d printing, building 3d printers.

Has anyone figured out a way to break these cycles and live a more normal life without the NEED to have another hobby? I am between "episodes" at the moment and I am happy! But i know another "episode" will happen soon and it will effect my life.
