Mom thinks I'll become dependent on my medication

Post Body

I just got diagnosed the other day and we bought my medication today but my mo was extremely hesitant in getting it for me. She has this belief that I'll become so dependent on it I'll become a drug addict or something. Idk how to explain it to her that to some degree you are dependent on it the same way my grandma takes medication for her hypertension. I'm thinking of telling or explaining to her that way.

What do you guys think?

I've been waiting for this diagnosis for half of my life and it's just frustrating. I just want her to understand.
