It shouldn’t be so hard to get a prescription for stimulants, especially when you already have a previous diagnosis

Post Body

I finally got the right meds after 2 years of my insurance-approved doctors trying to push off label antidepressants and telling me they’re not allowed to prescribe controlled substances. I had to pay $500 out of pocket to see a specialist that wasn’t in my network, but they actually listened when I told them my medical history and immediately prescribed the stimulant that I know works because I’ve taken it for several fucking years in the past without any adverse effects. And not surprisingly, I no longer have any symptoms of “anxiety” or “depression” now that untreated ADHD isn’t ruining my life. It really shouldn’t have to be this hard or expensive to get the right treatment.
