Iāve been recently diagnosed but have not really started the journey for medication yet, however I currently have high enough blood pressure that I know itās very likely they will say I need to get that down before starting medication
I was wondering if anyone had this experience and how that resulted? Iām assuming thereās a āweād like to see it below X/Y before prescribing stimulantsā, but what was that number for you? (and yes I know different psychiatrists may have different targets here). Also, did it need to be that number without blood pressure medication for you?
What Iām worried about, is I feel kind of caught in a loop, where a lot of ADHD issues make it harder to maintain the consistency in healthy habits I need to keep my blood pressure down, but obviously they wouldnāt want to prescribe until it is down. I know Iāll have to find a way to maintain these consistent habits long enough to get it down without the medication, which will then make it easier to maintain those habits to keep it down, but I imagine that point between now and then will be difficult
I know this will be a conversation to have with the psychiatrist but I was curious in the meantime if anyone else was in this situation and how it all went for you?
