Why can’t we eat hot bread?

A bunch of us have GI issues, I’m aware. But what is the deal with hot bread specifically? I know it’s not just me.
Has anyone figured this out? I mean scientifically - what is the mechanism that leads hot bread (not all bread!) to cause painful bloating that lasts for hoooours? It’s embarrassing and uncomfortable, and I feel like if I understood it I might remember not to do it.
