Did meds help with anger/frustration?

I was on Concerta all throughout high school but I had to stop taking it due to the appetite suppression getting so bad that I was losing too much weight as an already very thin person. I managed to get all the way though college unmedicated with some procrastination and motivation issues, but I still finished strong.

Now in my adult life, particularly since I’ve been living alone, I’ve noticed myself having angry outbursts when I get frustrated. Luckily I’m able to control myself very well around other people when I get triggered, but on my own I tend to lose control and rage when I am frustrated (screaming, cursing, slamming doors, etc.). I’m getting concerned that I will end up hurting myself or breaking something if I keep letting this go on… I also plan on living with my boyfriend sometime in the next year and I really don’t want him to see that side of me.

For those of you who also struggle with this kind of impulse control, is this something that ADHD medication has helped with? Also how have you dealt with appetite suppression from your meds? I really appreciate any input.
