Do stimulant meds help with keeping train of thought?

Post Body

I am 42F recently diagnosed with ADHD and exploring potential treatment options. I am currently taking a non-stimulant medicine that is helping with executive dysfunction. For example, whereas in the past I might’ve thought to myself “Yeah I’ll wash those dishes later,” there’s now much less pushback in my head; that is, it’s easier to just decide, “Okay I’ll knock it out now.”

However, I still have trouble with losing my train of thought, both at work and in my personal life. Sometimes I’ll have what I think is a really useful or interesting idea, but if I don’t say it or write it down immediately, it slips away.

My question is, in your experience, do stimulant medicines help with this problem? More broadly, have you found anything that helps with this problem? Thank you for any insights you can offer! :)
