Finally got diagnosed with ADHD after Bipolar Disorder diagnosis!
Post Body

Last week I posted about seeing a psychiatrist because I suspected I had ADHD, and after 10 minutes, getting diagnosed with Bipolar type II. It didn't sit right with me, I didn't feel any noticeable mania and neither did my family. He also said I couldn't possibly have ADHD because I could hyperfocus on things that interest me (he believes ADHD people would not be able to focus at all) That also didn't seem right to me because I've heard that you can go into a state of hyperfocus even if you had ADHD.

Today I went to see another psychiatrist (this one I did more research and he seems more educated on ADHD) and I got my diagnosis! He said I was a pretty obvious case. I did an assessment and talked alot about my symptoms. I was prescribed Ritalin and will be getting a follow up appointment 3 weeks from now. I just want to say that I'm really happy. I know medication won't fix everything, but at least now I know that Im not just lazy or unmotivated like my teachers would always call me. I feel like I'm starting to put my life back on track slowly. It feels great.

Thank you for reading this far.
