Appropriate consequence when your 10 year-old is violent?

Hi. Based on your help with other questions I’ve asked on here, we’ve had significant improvement at home. Thank you for that.

I’ve got another… we’re out of meds for a few days, and my son has a pretty severe case of ADHD. Especially towards the evenings, he gets angrier and violent. He hits my car, my car windows (if we’re going anywhere), the walls, stomps as hard as he can on the floor is (which is our neighbor’s ceiling), screams at the top of his lungs, kicks and punches his brother, and hits and pushes me.

What is the appropriate reaction to this behavior? He seems like he’s out of control of his own behavior. I know that negative consequences/punishment aren’t the way to go, so what is?

Thank you for your help, as always.

P.S. For what it’s worth, his psychiatrist doesn’t seem to think there is a comorbidity. He thinks he’s angry and needs his meds in combination with ABA therapy (but I can’t afford therapy at the moment). Getting his refills is always a fight with insurance, so those are supposed to be arriving in the mail shortly, but I don’t know exactly when.
