I was on focalin for 3 years and while the focus and cognitive abilities were amazing, I was super anxious and jittery when I was on them. This led me to try and find a different medication, landing on vyvanse (which I took in high school and couldn’t remember any complaints), turns out my ticks were really bad on that medication.
So my doctor puts me on Concerta and after 2 months, I don’t like it and my doctor insists on upping my dosage and locking me in for another month instead of switching. I can’t stay on Concerta because it makes me sleepy and does not help with my cognitive functioning at all. I’m on 72 mg and I still get no benefits.
When I speak with my new doctor tomorrow, are there any recommendations for medications? Has anybody failed on Concerta and found success with another medication?
What medication do you take and at what dose?
I’d love to know!
