I was diagnosed roughly 3-4 years ago, and given Adderall XR 20mg daily. I also take Bupropion and Citalopram. Within a few days, I was already much better focused, and my mood changes were much milder if at all. The Adderall seemed to boost the other 2 meds a bit, and I felt great. I had ups and downs here and there, mostly cycle related, but for all this time, my medication was damn near perfectly handling my symptoms.
Last month, they didn’t have the XR. And they likely won’t have it till long after Christmas. I didn’t want to go without, so switched to instant release and adjusted to the dose advised. That took a few days, and I was nauseated and grumpy.
I’m still taking the instant, and I’d completely stop if I didn’t think things would get even worse. I’m tired, sad, irritable, and I feel like everything is falling apart. I’m the breadwinner and the only driver, and it’s starting to affect my concentration while driving. I’m disassociating more than I’m living in reality. I can pick up my phone to do something and get distracted as soon as I open the screen.
My proper medication helped me adult properly, and make phone calls. Now I’m facing the dilemma of how I’m going to get myself together enough to call 18 different pharmacies in my area to see if anyone has my medication in stock.
I just really hate this, and the idea of calling that many places with the very real possibility they will NOT have my meds till next year is breaking me. There is no one to call for me, because I’m the one who makes all the appointments in the house for similar reasons.
What am I supposed to do? How am I supposed to make it even another week till I can fill my meds again and what do I do if I can’t get properly medicated? I have no more PTO till next year, and have to make hours anyway.
