The US health insurance system is a massive scam (we are all aware of this). I'm assuming others have had the experience as well where, to do an intake visit with a mental health provider, insurance will cover the visit. However, to do the actual testing to get a mental health diagnosis so you can be treated for it, you have to pay for the test (or your deductible and, in my case, 20% after the deductible). I feel incredibly lucky to have insurance in the first place and recognize that it is a privilege. Just curious if others had the same experience or is this unique to my health insurance? I think mine will cost approximately $900.
