I was diagnosed with ASD and ADHD (Inattentive type) back in 2015 by a psychologist and a psychiatrist with my family at the mental health unit at the hospital in my city and I can honestly say it’s STILL hell on earth in my opinion, and I’d be much happier with having just one of the conditions (Probably ADHD if I had the choice because it can be medicated)
There’s just a ton of overlap between both of the conditions that often make one of the conditions worse than the other and I’m looking to hear from people who experience the same problem and how you deal with it.
One of which, and probably the main one is that my autism craves for routine, order and things that I know will be certain and my ADHD can bring out unpredictable and sometimes intense feelings of wanting to try something new and i absolutely hate it.
My mind is constantly going at 100 miles and hour coupled with a constant feeling of being at peace and wanting to relax.
ADHD seems to me like the more dominant, but in my experience autism is the more powerful so for the most part I do tend to get over the chaos of ADHD by simply sticking to routines but when ADHD doesn’t want to play ball (The fucker decides this when it wants) it can just be a nightmare to be honest.
Medication helps, but it will always will be an ongoing battle.
