Overly complicated processes

Post Body

I told myself I was going to stop worrying about the labels surrounding my behaviors, but I am wondering about this and thought I'd ask: is it common among others with ADHD traits to overly complicate things that you have to do?

I have a weekly planning process that goes through my excessively overwhelming task list and determines which things I should try to work on in the next week, and that process has built up to the point where it takes me like 4 hours to process the past week and load my task list from my master list.

I have a monthly budgeting process where I analyze my spending over the past month and figure out where I was over or under budget, and then make withdrawals or contributions to the specific goals I have in my savings account. That process also takes me hours.

I would love to cut the time down on these things. But I guess I'm a little OCD because I'm afraid I will miss something important if I don't do every single step.

Just me? Has anybody else ever had this issue and worked through it to simplify?
