After years of researching ADHD, discussing it with friends who have a diagnosis, and struggling in school / life, I FINALLY got evaluated for ADHD today. I always second guess things so because I didn't hear "I'm officially diagnosing you with ADHD" I'm kinda like 🤔🤔🤔 but my psychiatrist did say our conversation was pointing him more and more towards ADHD combined.
I'm going to be starting Straterra soon (but it'll be generic) because I was nervous about stimulants - mainly tolerance, withdrawal, and the national shortage in the U.S. I'm disappointed because I want that instant POOF you can think now! moment you get from stimulants and waiting weeks to see if the medication will work sucks. But it's amazing to finally feel heard and start treatment.
