Is forgetting what you were doing then suddenly realizing what you were doing a symptom of ADHD or something else?

Post Body

I've been diagnosed but this specific thing I never really thought of or even realized so I am wondering if it's a typical symptom or something unrelated that maybe I should get checked out.

I think it's better if I describe a specific scenario I had today. I was helping my dad repair the roof of his house while he was out at work. I was looking at my phone taking a break then got up to measure the wood, cut it then brought it up and started nailing it in. This took about 15 minutes. At this point I felt like I was just placed on earth and had to try to remember what actually happened between putting my phone away and making the wood down.

It felt like maybe it could have been my brain on complete autopilot but fully unaware.
