I take on avg 4x5mg Dex per day and have so for 1yr. I try to take days off where I can, like some weekends, public holidays etc. I find on days off I have insane withdrawals and itās freaking me tf out! Like if there was a fire in my house, I wouldnāt even move - type tired. Anxiety to the max. Irritable/100, like if someone calls me I feel like yelling. Canāt be bothered to do or see anyone etc. itās obviously withdrawals. Maybe itās cus Iām petite or the typical āeveryone reacts differently to medsā, but I really didnāt expect my dose to make me dependent like itās a pretty standard dose & my psych never mentioned withdrawal symptoms at all. Anyways. This is freaking me out and making me want to quit. I know it will be insanely hard because I feel physically and psychologically dependent on it. Like Iām just a better version of me on it & it will be sad to see it go but I donāt wanna feel like Iām addicted to it anymore. Iām prepping to come off around Xmas when I have time off work. Iām hoping there would be a future scenario where I could take it on reallly busy or stressful work times but not on a day to day basis. I think i need to detox from it first though and also try to manage my symptoms as best as i can without meds for a good while before i try to take it āas neededā. Can you please tell me your experiences coming off meds? Good or bad & what your dose was/for how long. Any tips. How was life post meds? Did you improve with management tools or did everything go to shit š Any opinions on whether you think this is a dependent worthy dose? Any opinions on what kind of time line I might be looking at to 1) detox 2) work on managing symptoms 3) try to then take āas neededā - and what you think as needed qualifies as? Thanking you - from a VERY distressed adhd other issues person.
