I take on avg 4x5mg Dex per day and have so for 1yr. I try to take days off where I can, like some weekends, public holidays etc. I find on days off I have insane withdrawals and itā€™s freaking me tf out! Like if there was a fire in my house, I wouldnā€™t even move - type tired. Anxiety to the max. Irritable/100, like if someone calls me I feel like yelling. Canā€™t be bothered to do or see anyone etc. itā€™s obviously withdrawals. Maybe itā€™s cus Iā€™m petite or the typical ā€œeveryone reacts differently to medsā€, but I really didnā€™t expect my dose to make me dependent like itā€™s a pretty standard dose & my psych never mentioned withdrawal symptoms at all. Anyways. This is freaking me out and making me want to quit. I know it will be insanely hard because I feel physically and psychologically dependent on it. Like Iā€™m just a better version of me on it & it will be sad to see it go but I donā€™t wanna feel like Iā€™m addicted to it anymore. Iā€™m prepping to come off around Xmas when I have time off work. Iā€™m hoping there would be a future scenario where I could take it on reallly busy or stressful work times but not on a day to day basis. I think i need to detox from it first though and also try to manage my symptoms as best as i can without meds for a good while before i try to take it ā€œas neededā€. Can you please tell me your experiences coming off meds? Good or bad & what your dose was/for how long. Any tips. How was life post meds? Did you improve with management tools or did everything go to shit šŸ˜…Any opinions on whether you think this is a dependent worthy dose? Any opinions on what kind of time line I might be looking at to 1) detox 2) work on managing symptoms 3) try to then take ā€œas neededā€ - and what you think as needed qualifies as? Thanking you - from a VERY distressed adhd other issues person.
