Are tics really associated with adhd? What form do they take?

Post Body

I've heard a couple of times now that people have tics with their adhd, but it's not part of the typically mentioned symptoms, so is this like officially acknowledged?

The other thread about talking to yourself made me think about how any time a thought occurs to me that I'm too self critical about(ie. Overthinking regular social encounters until i feel like everything i did was a faux pas) i will break out of the thought loop by impulsively blurting out something and shaking my head. It's never something socially acceptable to say, but so far it rarely happened in public at least. Whenever it does i have to try and make it seem like i was singing something to hide the shame. But my neighbors are probably catching on that there isnt actually a song called suck my dick, and I'm scared that my RSD is transforming into tourettes syndrome over time.

No idea if this is at all related or just my own flavor of insanity, so I'd like to learn more.
