Why can’t my habits stick right now ?

I have been going to meta cognition therapy as advised by psychiatrist - super interesting way to gain insights

Anyway I said to the psychiatrist that my wife (no adhd) has long running habits that are like a spiderweb of synergy and combine to give her more total energy and I can’t start or keep a habit.

She said - “ and why do you think that is for you?”

I had no answer but my frustrations

She told me that when you have adhd and I have been untreated for adhd for many years that the brain is just overloaded and tired and has no bandwidth for this type of activity.

The only was is to boil the habit down to the lowest possible action and start there until I can do more.

This made total sense to me
