First time poster here. I am a 75 year old male living in Australia. I suffer from several autoimmune diseases which were diagnosed in my mid 40’s. I had a few serious flare ups and nearly went blind during one of these. Depression crept in as I was having difficulty managing everything however, I still did quite well career wise.
I have been reading about ADHD as the subject kept popping up on TikTok. This prompted me to look into it further and I was shocked to find that I had nearly all the symptoms described. I have been really struggling since retiring with things like compulsive spending, starting projects and quickly becoming bored with them, etc etc. looking back over my life, I have been like this forever. It’s become even worse with online shopping and most of the time when the goods are delivered, I can’t for the life of me, remember why I made the purchase. This is only one small example of what’s been happening for a lifetime.
My question are, at 75 years of age, do I seek a formal diagnosis? Has anyone on this sub had a diagnosis this late in life? I would give anything to be “normal”
Thanks so much for reading
