Post Body

I have ADHD and CPTSD and often come home, lay down on the couch, order DoorDash, and cuddle with my cats until I go to bed. All primarily from sitting in front of a computer and hyperfocusing for 10 hours a day for work. Once home, my refrigerator and cupboards are literally in front of my couch and my brain doesn’t even register it when I need to eat. All chores and self care seem unmanageable because it’s never one thing. Should I cook before doing the dishes so I can clean those dishes with the others? But first I have to get them out of the sink. Then I need to clean the sink. Then fill it with hot water. But it’s always too hot. The rubber gloves are too tight. Once they are scrubbed and put in the other sink, now I have to dry them then put them away. It’s just too much.

But what about just 5 minutes?

I bought this shelf to put notecards in with one task that I only have to spend 5 minutes on and then can lay back down: brush teeth, litter box, trash, etc.

I use this timer and start it when I get home so it alerts me every hour, then 5 minutes later that the alarm sounds again that I can lay back down.

5 minutes of work, not completion, has seemed more manageable for my focus, energy, and mental health. Just wanting to help.
