My Psychiatrist started me on 20mg of Ritalin and i don't feel a thing

My entire life i've struggled with paying attention or even doing things i enjoy. after searching for so long i've finally found a psychiatrist and she prescribed me 20mg of Ritalin, i started it today but i really don't feel anything, is there an effect to feel or is it just behavior changes?
