Afraid that asking for a higher dose means I've failed

Post Body

So, I started meds this year in May. I'm taking 5mg generic adderall IR. In the beginning it worked wonderfully. And it still works but not as much as it used to. My goal with meds is to take them to build healthy habits and to help me find ways to manage my adhd so I can go without meds or at least take them less consistently where only on really bad days do I need them. I'm afraid if I take a higher dose that means I'm failing that goal. That it means I've gone backwards in progress. I know I've made progress and I see it in some of my daily habits but I can't get that thought out of my mind.
