I don't want to waste time talking about why I'm sure I have ADHD, but I will say I'm 38 and certain I've had it for the last 30 years, and its only getting harder to ignore. it's basically life crippling.
I am desperately trying to get medicated at this point. Here are the issues I'm running into
I have been told that no serious doctor will prescribe me ADHD medication without nueropsych testing and that it is a long intensive process, and that it takes a long time to schedule through insurance because of that reason. I am talking about how they say there's a waiting list until spring.
I am in Los Angeles.. I have called SO many offices and no one has a psychiatrist who can prescribe
So basically wait forever and go through insurance, or it's extremely expensive to get tested outside of insurance is what I was told..
What is the easiest way some of you have gotten diagnosed? I really am 99% sure I have ADHD and although I would love a good doctor who has good principles, I'm also not trying to wait that long or get finessed out of serious cash.
I just want to start trying different medications under supervision to try and help me find my way ASAP. Is that really so hard to do?
