Hi! Please let me know if this is the wrong place for this.
I don't have ADHD, but my boyfriend does, something he struggles with is cleaning, in particular. Thing is, I'm a clean person, mess makes me extremely uncomfortable. Dirty dishes, trash on the floor or tables, etc.
In his words, these are just things he "doesn't see", like his mind blocks it out? I've read cleaning can be a little difficult for people with ADHD, so, I'm wondering, is there any tips I can use to try and motivate him to tidy up? Or at least help me out when I'm cleaning? We have a kitten coming into our lives sort of suddenly and I think I'd go a bit insane being the only one cleaning...
I've gotten a whiteboard, hoping something constantly visual with checklists will help him out and I've broken tasks I'd like him to do into smaller chunks (something I've merely read online), I only set this up this evening, however, so I've yet to see if that helps any. I'm just wondering if there's anything else that may potentially help out?
I appreciate anything in advance! I don't blame him for any of these problems, but I hope you understand how frustrating it can be...
