I have a hard time explaining my feelings and experiences and I think I might be highly autistic.
They won’t consider testing me for ADHD. The antipsychotics they’ve given me don’t work, but it seems like because I’m trans, they assume I must be delusional. I do everything I can to blend in — I’m probably the most conservative-looking transgender person you’d meet (though my mind is different, of course). But despite that, I’m still not being taken seriously.
I don’t want to leave this place because it’s the only one without a long waiting list. When I asked if they would even consider testing me for ADHD, the psychologist basically said no in a roundabout way: "I'd have to talk to someone and see, but anyway…"
I respect that they have master's degrees in psychology, but I have every single symptom of ADHD. I just want to get the right medication and move on. I’ve been completely honest with them — more honest than I usually am — so I can get the help I need. I even told them I think I have ADHD and that my goal is to get medication for it, but I feel like they’re not listening to me.
